Axon Fitness
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Axon Fitness collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have.
Who we are
This website, axon.fitness, is run by Stewart Howard, a sole trader trading as Axon Fitness, based in England.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Stewart Howard (trading as Axon Fitness) is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
How to contact us
You can contact us about this policy or your personal information using the contact form on our homepage, or by email at info@axon.fitness.
Information we collect
When you use our contact form: your first name, last name, email address and the message you write.
When you sign up for the Free Axon Fitness Driver Mobility Guide: the sign-up page is provided by MailerLite on a separate web page. When you sign up, MailerLite collects your email address and records your consent to receive the guide and follow-up emails.
When you visit the website: like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers automatically record technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser and device type, and an approximate country worked out from your IP address. This is used to keep the website secure and working. Our website also keeps a short record when a visitor reaches a broken or redirected link – the web address, the page they came from, the time and the type of browser, but not their IP address – so we can fix the link.
Please don’t include detailed health or medical information in a message. If you choose to tell us about a health condition or injury, we’ll only use it to reply to you, we won’t share it with anyone else, and we’ll delete it in line with the retention period below. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
How we use your information and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To send you the free guide and the emails you signed up for — your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To keep the website secure and working properly — our legitimate interest in running a safe website.
- To make sure we don’t send you marketing emails after you’ve unsubscribed or asked us not to contact you — our legitimate interest in respecting your choice and complying with the law on electronic marketing.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the website and our communications. They process information on our behalf:
- Hostinger — hosts the website on servers in the United Kingdom, keeps server logs, stores backups of the website in Germany and sends the website’s emails, such as contact form notifications.
- WordPress and WPForms Lite — the website software and the contact form, which run on our hosting. Contact form messages are sent to us by email and are not stored in the contact form system. A copy of each email the website sends, including contact form notifications, is kept in the website’s email log for 14 days and then deleted automatically.
- Google Workspace — our business email, where contact form messages are received and answered, and Google Drive, where automatic backups of the website are stored.
- MailerLite — manages sign-ups for the free guide and sends the related emails.
Our website is hosted in the United Kingdom. Backups of the website, which may include personal information held on the website, are stored by Hostinger in Germany. The UK recognises countries in the European Economic Area, including Germany, as providing an adequate level of protection for personal information, so no extra safeguards are needed for these backups.
Google Workspace may store and process our email and the website backups held in Google Drive outside the UK, including in the United States. Google relies on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where needed, standard contractual clauses approved for UK transfers. MailerLite stores subscriber data in the European Union (on Google Cloud in the Netherlands); its US company, MailerLite, Inc., may also access it, protected by standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum.
We may also share information if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
- Contact form messages and emails: 12 months after your last contact with us, unless we need to keep them longer for an ongoing matter or to meet a legal obligation. The copy in the website’s email log is deleted automatically after 14 days.
- Free guide subscribers: we keep your email address while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and a record that you have unsubscribed for as long as necessary to make sure we don’t send you any further marketing emails. You can ask us to erase your personal information at any time. If you do, we’ll delete it, but we may need to keep a minimal record, such as your email address and the fact that you don’t want to receive marketing emails, so that we can continue to respect your choice.
- Server logs: Hostinger keeps website access and error logs for up to 7 days for security and troubleshooting. They are then deleted automatically, unless the law or an active security investigation requires them to be kept for longer.
- Broken-link records: kept for 7 days and then deleted automatically.
- Hostinger’s website backups: Hostinger makes a backup of the website’s files and database once a week and keeps the 7 most recent, covering about 49 days. Each time a new backup is made, the oldest one is deleted. If our hosting plan ends, Hostinger keeps the remaining backups for up to 30 days and then deletes them.
- Our own backups: from time to time, for example before updating the website, we download a copy of the website’s files and database. These copies may include personal information held on the website, such as recent contact form emails, and are kept securely on our own computer. We keep only the three most recent complete backups. When we make a new one, we delete the oldest.
- Automatic backups in Google Drive: the website makes a backup of its files and database once a day and stores it in our Google Workspace account (Google Drive). These backups may include personal information held on the website, such as recent contact form emails. We keep the 7 most recent. Each time a new backup is made, the oldest one is deleted automatically.
Cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies. WordPress only sets cookies when someone logs in to manage the website. The free guide sign-up page is a separate web page hosted by MailerLite, and it uses Google reCAPTCHA to help block spam sign-ups.
